Free food is always a plus for a self-employed wannabe writer like yours truly. Free food covered in chocolate is even better. Throw in some chocolate chips and granola, and it's at the top of my snack list. Enter the Fudge Dipped Chocolate Chip Chewy Granola Bar. Chewy, sweet, full of chocolate chips, tasty granola, and none of that bland/stale after-taste. Probably because they use milk chocolate, and not dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips and fudge. However, it doesn't have all the calories, sugar, and fat of a candy bar. So, I guess it would be up to you to decide how these bars should be incorporated into your daily intake. (Nutrition Facts)
I was surprised at the first bite. I don't really have a good relationship with granola bars. They either taste too sweet, have too much going on with nuts and seeds, or they're too..."earthy" (aka taste LIKE DIRT!) , or they're way too hard and messy with crumbles and pieces that fall all over the place. Sunbelt was different. The fresh taste Sunbelt advertises is true. Unnfh. Fresh from the wrapper, it tastes like they're fresh from the...er...granola oven. Everything's neatly packed in, and nothing really falls apart. From top to bottom, there's enough chocolate for even the most hardcore sweet tooth.
So...that's it!
It's an awesome bar, it tastes good, and they make a pretty decent snack. Visit the Sunbelt Bakery website to see where you can get some, and enjoy the chocolaty, granola goodness.
