From Nana's Bed

I don't know why I'm up at this hour. My job doesn't start until next week. It's different down here, so maybe that's why I'm awake. The usual noise of garbage men, morons blasting music at 8 AM, and crazy birds aren't in my ear. I'm also chillin' in grandma's bedroom while she's gone. Her giant bed is so firm and perfect. O_o I mean....perfect. All I need is Prince sitting in her recliner, reading poetry to soft acoustic rock music. And maybe a breakfast burrito.

The point of this trip is not just to update my résumé, but to regroup myself for the upcoming quarter. It's two months to hammer out the dents in my armor. It seems like such a long time, but it goes by so quickly. A part of me hopes so, because I'll always miss Chicago no matter what. But a part of me is always trying on this small town for size. Dad says not to label myself, but with all the things I am, I'm just trying to find a place where I fit in. (And yes, I know it's nuts that I chose the South, but this town is pretty nice.)

Also--Burke's.

Just.
