I know Mother's Day has passed, but I just wanted to share some pictures from the day. I created a mini-collage of the women in my life who're ever so important. I also sent a request to my cousin to take a pic of my aunt and grandma, holding up their quirky gifts from ThinkGeek. This is...part one of their gifts. Part two should be delivered either today or tomorrow. Granny is usually here by now, but, since the weather in Chicago hasn't been too kind lately, we didn't know if it would be good on her joints to be in such chilly weather. Then it got warm. Then it got cold again. Sigh! Anyway, she's down in Paris, TN looking ever so smart and sharp next to my Aunt Lyn.
Then, I also made a video that um....kinda examines the bitter side of Mother's Day for me. I know a lot of people can identify with that. I wasn't very sure when or if I would post it. This is a reality that many people face, however. So...I decided to post it. It was all my heart pouring out in rambles and truths and...everything.
I'm thankful for the women in my life who have been there for me in my hour of need. Here's a lengthy post from my FB page (with the pic) that sorta poured outta me when I let the muses tickle my brain.
"One gave me life and left me with a blazing passion for writing/art. The other carried the torch until adulthood, unconditionally loving me through good and bad. Another has been friend, confidant, voice of wisdom and beauty for years and years. The next woman played dual roles as grandmother and aunt. She was all class from her Gucci bags to her jeweled berets. She’s the reason why I like Jazz and Orange Mandarin Tea. She’s also the reason why my T’s, D’s, and F’s are so sharp. She’s also why PBS is so important to me. Why…TicTacs are so awesome. Above all else, she is why I turned out to be so…nice-ish. She always made me think twice about my actions.

Gotta love a flower you don't have to worry about watering. |

The final woman was a wonderful friend and she listened to all my goofy stories about elementary and junior high school crushes as if they were very important. She helped dad out with all my shopping, despite living all the way in D.C. She came whenever she was needed, and told me all sorts of hilarious stories about herself. I never will forget laughing hysterically with her for hours about things that most women would cringe at. There are so many others, but these are the women who made me feel like I wasn't alone. Although I…rarely fit in anywhere, they made me feel like I had great value in this world. Happy Mother’s Day grandma, Aunt Lyn, Grandma Warren, Jeanette. Love you all."
