CrowdTap Product Review: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Body Wash

I had a chance to apply for a spot in a sampling panel for Herbal Essences on CrowdTap a while ago. Amped for all things free and soapy, I decided to give it a shot. I got my sample bottle in the mail a few days ago. Although it's a minute li'l puddin' tater coming in at 1.2 ounces, I'll skip off to the land of steam and water to give a proper review worthy of the shower gods and goddesses of hygiene land. (Soundtrack provided by Prince, of course. Prince is for everything, by the way.)

Dig-- the Herbal Essences Body Wash collection smells exactly like the shampoo and conditioner line. It was confusing, I tell ya what. I took a whiff, and wanted to start conditioning my hair. The bottle says "body wash", though. Soo...yeah...this is body wash. This is nothing new, considering that years ago, they used to sell body cleansers that favored their older collection of shampoos and conditioners. This set seems to model the hair products a bit more in scent and name. The familiarity of scent, name, and color made me feel a little uneasy. Was I washing with the same stuff under a different label?

Hello Hydration Body Wash is fused with coconut extract. Assuming it has the same properties as the conditioner (retaining moisture), I expected soft, dewy, fresh-from-the-shower type skin. Once I got into the shower, the familiar coconut scent wafted into my nose. It wasn't as strong as the original conditioner's scent. The body wash version of Hello Hydration is very light. There's lather, but not a whole froth of suds. Since I had such a small bottle, I tried not to overdo it with product.

The body gel washes on the bod smoothy, rinsing off with ease. Once I was out of the shower, my skin did
indeed feel very soft and moisturized. No drying residues, no "icky skin feeling" either. The scent isn't as prominent after-shower, but you can definitely smell delicate hints of coconut in the air if you sniff yourself hard enough. (From the comfort of your own home, I hope.)

All in all, I'd rate this body wash as "not bad". It seems to be a complimentary wash one could use with the Hello Hydration hair care line. While it wasn't necessarily a body wash that stood out to me, I think someone new to the different Herbal Essences scent will like it. Personally, it reminded me way too much of the Hello Hydration conditioner, and sorta turned me off.
