Product Review: Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread Chips

Oh joy and bliss! I've gotten my grubby hands on contestant number two, the Cheesy Garlic Bread flavor! Of course, it's not a big bag. I haven't the time nor the patience (thank you, childhood for this short attention span!) to be scouring the city for a bigger bag. So, I made do with the teeeny tiiiny 31.8 gram bag for your reviewing delight.

Since I've already blabbered about Lay's and their contest, we don't need to get into why this flavor exists, what you have to do to keep it there, and yadda yadda. For all of that info, head straight to Lay's Offical website and Facebook page. I want to get down to snacking business and give you the scoop on these here chippies in the bag.

I can tell you right off the bat--this ISN'T a wacky flavor. There are no bad smells, there are no strange tastes. If you've had good, cheesy, buttery garlic bread before, you'll LOVE these chips. You're going to ruin your diet for these chips. They're insanely authentic to the actual taste of Cheesy Garlic Bread. You'll obviously hear the crunch of the chip, but your mind is going to think you're sinking your teeth into a warm, melted cheese and herb bread party. This flavor leans a little bit in the direction of the  Lay's Sour Cream and Cheddar chips--sans sour cream, of course. They wouldn't last but three days in my snack-lovin' care. They're a little tangy, not too heavy with the garlic, and all-around delicious. They're not as unusual (or fun-ky) as the Sriracha chips were. I wouldn't mind seeing these in the snack aisle. Out of all three flavors, I think this is the most sensible one.

The savory, cheesy taste is what makes it so delicious and approachable. A perfect snack food for moments of lethargic nothingness with a side of comic books and iPod Touch Apps. You can bet my vote is going right for this innovative appetizer in a bag. Here's hoping it makes the final cut!
