Well, one of my blog traffic go-to sites is gone. I'm not sure if it's for good or not. In any case, it's got me banging my head against the digital wall. I did the majority of my networking on Entrecard, but failed to build a solid enough rapport to keep things going once the site went bye-bye. Believe you me, I love site traffic. Especially when it's fellow bakers who need quick recipes or curious consumers who want to know what something tastes like or otherwise. I must say, the lady is a little annoyed. Still, this one is kinda my fault. The number one rule of anything--always have a backup.
The problem is that when I did surf around for sites concerning traffic, I came up with a LOT that were just link dumpsters. That means everyone and their mother were simply dropping links, descriptions, and moving on. Were we visiting blogs? Were we simply copying and pasting code for badges? So now, I'm back to square one. Searching for good sites, maintaining exchange and rapport, and reaping the results. The search is the hardest part.
It's time to get messy, make mistakes, and ask questions.
(Then drown my sorrows with a peach mango hard lemonade....)
