In the process of writing, stopping, and RE-starting, I've decided to try my hand at poetry. Self-published on Amazon, gonna be finished by the end of Summer with no excuses. 60+ poems about Summer. We're talking feelings, images, scents, events. I think it's a challenge because I tend to write morose little things about exes and ohs and things that bother me. That's not all I think about, mind you. Unlike those poems of yearning and sadness, I want to write about the brighter side of life. I toss a poem about extreme heat in the mix for good measure, but this really is a truly challenging project.
Concerning cover art, I'm pretty sure I want to pay someone to create it for me. I've tried my hand at it before and pretty much abused every single effect PhotoShop has to offer. Even if I don't hire someone, I'll probably take a high-res shot of something Summer-y with my father's camera. In any case, stepping into self-publishing territory can be tricky. Even with poetry, I will still need an editor for something. Those are expensive, by the way.
There's a lot to think about as I write. I'm a member of at least two sites that have a great support team, so it would be in my best interest to use them. Why not have people on my team willing to help me write, edit, and promote myself? Networking starts with me, but at some point will require others in my world. Sooo...here we go. Project number...er....hmm, I can't even remember.
-___- Let's just hope I finish this one. Meanwhile, I'm working on a video blog about it to slap on Tumblr one fine day.
