Sean Patty--Mega talented Deviant

We've all got a "to do" list. I change the things on my list every other month or so. Since I love art, I have a LOT of that on my list. I want to cover the boring walls of my bedroom with vibrant pictures of flowers and romantic sunsets. I'd like to decorate the crazy green walls of our living room with funky abstract designs and  trance-inducing fractals. As a member of a certain site, I get to see a lot of different styles of art and a LOT of my favorite characters beautifully displayed by talented hands with amazing levels of imagination. (Slightly NSFW links if boobies and such make your eyes pop. Fair warning, it's pretty erotic on the artist's main site and a touch of everything on his dA. ;-) )

Today I just want to give major thanks to artist and publisher Sean Patty for making such a fabulous pin-up of my favorite comic book character, Storm. Ever since I was introduced to her via the classic 90s animation, I've been hooked on her style, her grace, and her many interpretations splashed on covers and posters in the Marvel world. I get a little nostalgic whenever I see her. So, of course anytime I see an awesome piece of her floating in the air or manipulating the heavens, I'm going to favorite it. Such was the case of Mr. Patty's amazing piece. I noticed it was on sale on eBay and had to have it. Bidding started at .99 but was well over 20 bucks by the time I got there. I felt like this was my chance to bring Storm home with me.

In spontaneous, determined fangirl fashion, I placed the highest bid with intent on having Miss Munroe hanging on my wall. Something about the flawless, jaw-dropping curves on her body and white tendrils on her head pushed me to bid and bid until everyone else threw in the towel. Patty's style reminded me of the old comic book spreads beautifully executed with all the shimmer, detail, and glam that took my breath away as a young girl. When I won the bid, I playfully announced on Facebook that a "Marvel Fangirl gets what she wants". As corny as the line "over the Moon" is, that's how I felt. This was someone's blood, sweat, and tears in my hands and it was well worth every penny.

What can I say about Sean Patty's amazing portfolio? He does everything from fantasy to the outright erotic. If you're blessed enough to buy any of his work, you'll spend hours closely looking at the detail of every shadow, highlight, line, and ink mark. Wherever "there" is, he's takin' you to the exact location.  While vixens and pin-ups drippin' pure sex are his specialties, his talent goes way beyond the scantily clad women of your comic book fantasies. Batman makes an appearance amongst all the barely clothed beauties.

So pleaaase check Sean out. If you're on dA, he's somebody to watch for sure. If you're on eBay, he's always got something amazing to sell. He does commissions and prints and has awesome shirts at CafePress featuring quite a few of the designs previously seen in his gallery. If there's one thing I love about having an original piece from an artist, it's the chance to tell people "I've got a Sean Patty original". ;-)
