The Body Shop--Shea Bath Set

A wonderful Christmas bath set gift from my aunt becomes my sensitive skin's best bathroom friend. In the search for a skin-friendly shower cleanser that doesn't make me break out or itch my arms to death, I've been gifted a sweet unisex scent that's incredibly awesome times three.

Unlike most people, I can't just run out and randomly grab a shower gel or cream. If I get an aggressive or abrasive brand, I'll itch all over. If I get a brand that's heavy with perfume or fragrance, I'll surely be itching for hours on end. I've gone through a lot of shower gels in the past few years with matching scars on my arms and legs. As a child, I had the same problem with certain bubble baths. While other kids got to roll around with Mr. Bubble, I had to use fizzing bath bars and generic ol' Strawberry Cream Bath from the local Jewel-Osco.

Enough about my embarrassing bath stories. I have to sing the praises of Shea Body Butter and Shea Shower Cream. (I haven't tried the scrub yet.) It's got the sweet fragrance of your average body butter and shower cream, but it's not incredibly overwhelming. I used some earlier this evening and still have soft skin like I just stepped out of the shower. What I like about the Shower Cream is that it doesn't take a lot to cleanse your body. The cream has a delightful scent like Shea Butter mixed with Vanilla and Nutmeg. It's got what I call a "unisex smell" because it's not a light and feminine scent or a "masculine" scent. It's somewhere in the middle, I think. If you've got allergies or have sensitive skin like yours truly, you'll be glad to know it's a soap-free product.

The Shea Body Butter is just as creamy and slippery. It's best used straight out of the shower on wet skin for the best results. Quite honestly, I like to use it whenever I feel like my hands or feet are getting a little dry. The body butter has a bit more of a masculine smell to it. I try not to use as much because it reminds me of a spicy, light musk-like smell to it. It's a touch more bold than the shower cream.

It looks like the bath set was just a holiday thing. The items are still available at thebodyshop.com and can be easily found with a search query. Happy shopping! :-)
