Candy Bags!

I'm pretty sure no one from my gift list is online and reading this. They're all under thirteen (with the exception of one) and hopefully are currently coming home from school and going home. Remember in my previous post I talked about getting candy bags from Figi's? I also talked about staying on budget. As I started to shuffle around my points and certificates, my father came home with a HUGE bag of candy. So, instead of spending 24 dollars (plus IL online purchase tax, plus shipping and handling, plus worrying if the candy would get here on time fresh...), I was able to cut a huge chunk of spending on this particular gifting extra.

The candy bag came from Sam's Club. It included stuff like Tootsie Rolls, generic Jawbreakers, something called Smart Tarts (the grape ones taste like bug spray...), basic fruit suckers, Now and Laters, and Super Bubble Gum. When I say the bag was big, trust me. This bag was as big as my college Algebra book. What I like about this save is that they have universal favorites my gift-getters will love. Although Figi's might have some goodies they'd like, I think this was the better deal.

The bags came from Overstock. Tiny, cute, festive. On top of that, shipping and handling was WAAAAY cheaper than Amazon. Since I was having trouble finding the bags I wanted, I sorta gave in to Overstock's two dollar shipping fee and Martha Stewart's classy holiday style. I searched high and low for the perfect gifting bag. Keep in mind I only needed six bags. There were way too many offers out there to buy in bulk for bags way bigger than what I wanted. Anyway, everything came together and now the children have something sweet to chomp on while they freak out over the gifts they'll be getting this year. Yay candy!
