Ocean Spray Diet Sparkling Cranberry

Who doesn't like things that fizz, bubble, and pop? Searching for alternatives to a can of soda pop, I decided to try something new. What turned out to be an accidental purchase of a diet version ended up being the best brand new grocery trip staple.

I meant to pick up the regular and ended up getting the diet. Once I got it home and popped open that first can in the four-pack, it was over. My mistake ended up working out in my favor. Of course it had the same after-taste as most diet drinks that fizz, but it wasn't as prominent and long-lasting on the tongue. Think of how regular Ocean Spray feels in your mouth and add a little fizz. It's a very light drink with little bubbles dancing on your tongue. It also reminded me of many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners where I'd shove a slice of cranberry sauce into a glass of Sprite or 7-Up. The taste of this drink is sweet and divine. The berry tastes more like pomegranate than cranberry but I'll take Ocean Spray's word that it's all cranberry. I bought them on the 23rd last week and by Saturday, they were all gone. I could not stop drinking them. I wish they were in an eight pack instead of the sad little four-pack of drinks.

I have to admit that I came prepared to be greatly disappointed by this so-called fizzy and all-natural concoction. Ocean Spray Cranberry is usually a bit on the tart side all by itself. I thought it would be something like a fizzy and tart soda with little or no sugar. Being able to skip the sugar-fest of soda for something else gives me the freedom to have a bit more willpower over wanting things like that in the first place. If you're looking for something new without all the weight of a regular soda, I highly recommend this product. At 8.4 ounces, it's well worth every penny. It's one of the best dainty alternatives I've ever had the pleasure of trying. Since the cans are so slender, you can fit quite a few of them in your fridge, your purse, and lunch packs.
