I recently had a little change in my pocket, and noticed we were out of Summertime treats at the house. While there's so many varieties of cool treats to get in the neighborhood, some of them lack the quality of certain ones found online. If you've ever had a "fruit pop" that consisted of more syrup and sugar than actual fruit, you know what I mean. So many of them claim to have the "natural juices", but fail to let you know just how sugary and artificial the juices really are. While no two fruit bars are alike nor perfect, it's pretty safe to say that they're not all sticky corn syrup affairs that offer more of a boost than an actual serving of fruit.
I love a good frozen treat on a hot day. I've bombed into coolness with a Bomb Pop, slithered into fruity goodness with a variety of push-ups, and even had a dairy-liscious time with frozen Go-Gurt sticks. Nothing compares to the goodness of a fruit bar with actual fruit in it. They are so hard to find in the grocery store. Especially when you and a few other fruit-seeking souls are the only ones buying them. So when they're gone, they're just gone and you have to deal with it. Enter, the
Strawberry Fruit Bars from Schwann's. While they do have corn syrup in them, I want you to pay attention to the nutrition facts.

Basically, it's not a sugar-fest. You can give these to children, adults, and elderly people. I won't go as far as to saying whether or not you can give them to a Diabetic person, however. That is something you'd have to personally discuss with your doctor or you'd know for yourself. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants an alternative to the usual song and dance of frozen treats. They're especially good if you're trying to get the kiddies to have a little serving of fruit. What I like most about these fruit bars is simply this--the strawberries don't have that "freezer burn bitter" or the overly sweetened taste to them. They just taste like regular sweet strawberries that somebody put in the freezer for a while. Rarely out of stock and available year-round, they're evenly priced where you can get two boxes. Despite coming in boxes of 24, do not expect them to last long in your house. ;-)
