First and foremost, I am so proud of my cousin, the graduate. Graduated with honors, 11th in his class, and he looked oh-so-handsome in his red cap and gown. I have watched this boy blossom from the drooling baby with the pretty, brown eyes to the smooth "Southern Swagg" young man he is today with his natural hair and his approachable personality. I HAVE to share the photos (I wish there were more, but time just wasn't on our sides!) of the event in question.

Let's start off with my look from Old Navy. Remember I said I had the dress in this blog post? Now, there's actual pictures outside of the really shaky one I took at home. I also have a picture (not wearing) of the shoes and the earrings (do have a picture of that) I wore. I'm also wearing this necklace in the picture. It was so well worth it because everything came together nicely. I ended up being very comfortable in my outfit and didn't break much of a sweat at all. For a woman such as my self who really isn't into the "girly girly", I found a comfortable color, a nice cut that somewhat flattered my pear-shaped figure, and the confidence to expose my jiggly dough arms in public. Whether I was talked about or not, I felt very comfortable in my own skin that night. I felt pretty.

My look was topped off with a scarf from my own collection, some Avon lipstick given to me ages ago, and some other trinkets (bracelet and class ring) as well. I didn't get to paint my toes, but I gave myself a speedy pedicure so my toes would be okay for the showing in my sandals.

Like I said, my cousin was so handsome in his getup. I felt myself "charging up" for that good cry, but I decided to suck it in and cheer loudly with everyone else. I've known this child all my life and I feel like a kind of sister to him and he's kind of like a brother to me. Though he has a sister and brothers of his own, I've always felt kind of close to him. In any case, he makes for a handsome graduate and I'm sure he will be just fine at the college he's chosen. It was so special to be there watching him take his first steps into a new chapter of his life.
